Poornima University believes that money should never stop a student from learning. That’s why the university offers many types of scholarships to help students who are hardworking, talented, or from financially weaker backgrounds. These scholarships support students by reducing their tuition fees and encouraging them to do their best in studies.
There are different kinds of scholarships available such as merit-based, need-based, government, and private scholarships. Students can apply for these based on their marks, family income, or special achievements.
Merit-Based Scholarships:
These are given to students who have high marks in their previous exams, like Class 12 or graduation. For example, students with more than 85% marks can get up to 70% fee waiver on tuition fees.
Need-Based Scholarships:
These are for students who come from low-income families and may find it hard to pay full fees. Students have to show income certificates and other documents to apply.
Government Scholarships:
Poornima University also helps students apply for scholarships offered by the Central and State Governments, like:
Post Matric Scholarship (for SC/ST/OBC students)
Minority Welfare Scholarships
National Scholarship Portal (NSP) Schemes
Private & Corporate Scholarships:
Some private companies and trusts offer scholarships for selected students at Poornima University. These are often for students studying in Engineering, Management, or Technology fields.
The eligibility for each scholarship is different, but in general:
For merit scholarships, students must have 70% to 90% or above in their qualifying exams (Class 10+2 for UG, graduation for PG).
For need-based scholarships, students should have a valid income certificate showing annual family income less than ₹2.5–5 lakh.
Category-based (SC/ST/OBC/minority) students must provide their valid caste or community certificate.
For government schemes, students must register on the NSP portal and fulfill the required conditions like attendance, bank account in their name, Aadhaar number, etc.
Students can apply for scholarships in the following simple steps:
During the admission process, tick the box for “scholarship request” in the main application form or collect the separate scholarship form from the university office.
Attach required documents such as marksheets, income certificate, caste certificate, ID proof, and passport-size photos.
The university will verify the documents and eligibility. Some scholarships may require interviews or counseling sessions.
If approved, the scholarship amount is adjusted from the tuition fee and the final payable fee is reduced.
For government scholarships, students must apply through scholarships.gov.in or the state portal by uploading all details and documents online.
Most scholarships are valid for one academic year and must be renewed yearly.
To renew the scholarship, students must:
Maintain a minimum percentage (usually 60–75%)
Have good attendance (usually 75% or more)
Not be involved in disciplinary actions
Renewal forms are usually filled before the start of the new academic session.
