Scottish Church College (SCC), Kolkata, offers a vibrant campus life enriched with adequate infrastructure, diverse student activities, and a secure environment to foster academic and personal growth.

Hostels

SCC provides five hostels—three for boys and two for girls—to accommodate outstation students. These include the Lady Jane Dundas Hostel (for girls), Duff Hostel (boys), Wann Hostel (boys), Ogilvie Hostel (boys), and the Students' Residence for girls (currently under maintenance).

• Hostels are mostly situated close to the main college campus (within a few minutes’ walk).

• Rooms are primarily single occupancy for boys and shared for girls, furnished with beds, chairs, tables, fans, and storage.

• Facilities include common rooms, mess facilities offering two to three meals per day (mostly hygienic with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options), water purifiers, and basic maintenance.

• The Lady Jane Dundas Hostel has a lift and better maintenance, while boys’ hostels have been partially renovated but some concern remains about hygiene and upkeep.

• Hostel fees range from approximately Rs 35,000 to Rs 60,000 annually. A no-ragging policy and security measures like gate closing by 9 PM are strictly implemented.

Library

The college library is a central academic resource with:

• Over 1,18,000 books and more than 13,000 journals covering arts, sciences, commerce, and general reading.

• Computer systems with internet access for research and online study.

• A quiet ambience for study and research support.

• Departmental libraries supplement the main library for specialized subjects.

Sports Facilities

Sports and physical activities are encouraged with good infrastructure including:

• Multiple playgrounds and courts for football, volleyball, basketball, and kho-kho.

• A fully equipped gymnasium with weights, treadmill, cycle, and equipment for boxing, power-lifting, archery, and shooting.
