Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology Reviews
As a third-year student at MGUMST, my experience has been mostly positive. Academically, the university maintains rigorous standards, and the faculty is deeply knowledgeable and supportive—always open to queries even beyond lecture hours. Placements in paramedical and allied health sciences are decent, especially with hospital tie-ups. Hostel life, however, is a mixed bag—rooms are adequate but food quality needs improvement. There are several extracurricular clubs like dance, sports, and medical fests like "AURA", but more frequent events would be welcome. One challenge is the high workload, which sometimes overshadows holistic development.
Alumni Review (2 Years Out):
I graduated in 2023 from MGUMST with a BPT degree. The academic foundation I received was strong and clinically relevant, thanks to real-time hospital training. Placement-wise, the college helped me land an internship which transitioned into a full-time role at a reputed private hospital. While faculty was a plus, soft skill training was limited. Growth opportunities came more from networking and personal initiative than from structured support. Overall, I’m grateful for the practical exposure but feel the institution can do more to help students post-graduation.
Pros and Cons (Practical):
Pros:
Strong medical and paramedical teaching faculty
Good hospital exposure
Well-maintained library and labs
Cons:
Hostel food and cleanliness need work
High tuition fees compared to similar universities
One-paragraph Casual Review:
Honestly, MGUMST is pretty decent if you’re serious about medicine. The faculty is chill and knows their stuff, and you get a lot of hands-on practice at the hospital, which is awesome. Hostel food is meh, and I wish the management was more responsive, but overall, it’s been a good ride.
Highly Positive Review (Academic & Placement Success):
MGUMST changed my life. With focused mentoring, I not only topped my stream but secured a placement with Fortis Jaipur right after my internship. The faculty went the extra mile—organizing mock interviews, CV workshops, and weekly clinical rounds. The support I received academically and emotionally was phenomenal. I’d highly recommend this institution for anyone who wants a solid start in the medical field.
Critical but Respectful Review:
The academics at MGUMST are top-tier with regular practicals and ward rounds. However, the hostel infrastructure feels outdated—shared bathrooms, average hygiene, and strict rules make it a bit stifling. The administration is slow to respond to student concerns, especially regarding maintenance and mess food quality.
One-Line Opinions:
Great hospital exposure, average hostel quality.
Excellent academics, but not very budget-friendly.
Supportive faculty, but slow management response.
Campus is vibrant, but food needs improvement.
Good for BPT/Nursing, placements okay in MBBS.
Comparison Review (vs. Another College):
I had the option between MGUMST and Pacific Medical College. I chose MGUMST because of its attached hospital and reputation in Jaipur. Academically, it exceeded my expectations, but hostel conditions were better at Pacific. Still, I think I made the right call for the clinical exposure and city access.
First-Year Impression:
As a first-year B.Sc. Nursing student, I find the campus welcoming. The seniors are super helpful and there’s no ragging at all. Faculty is disciplined but friendly. The food is just about okay, but the mess timings are strict. Overall, the vibe is a mix of academic pressure and quiet fun.
Mixed-Review Format:
Likes:
Experienced teaching faculty
Strong focus on clinical training
Clean, air-conditioned classrooms
Dislikes:
Hostel food quality is inconsistent
Some labs need equipment upgrades
Research-Focused Student:
I chose MGUMST for its strong focus on clinical and academic research. The library access and mentorship I received helped me publish my first paper in the second year!
Student from a Small Town:
Coming from a small town, MGUMST felt huge and intimidating, but over time, it became home. I gained exposure I’d never get back home.
Hostel Life Reviewer:
Hostel life is manageable. Rooms are spacious, but Wi-Fi is patchy. Mess food lacks variety. Curfew policies are strict, but it ensures safety.
Extracurricular-Loving Student:
If you're into music, dance, or sports, there’s a lot to engage in. The annual fest “AURA” is lit. I just wish we had more regular events.
Average Student's Take:
I’m not a topper, but I’ve felt well-supported. Teachers never hesitate to explain again. Assignments are a lot, though!
COVID-era Graduate:
I graduated during the pandemic, and MGUMST adapted surprisingly well to online learning. But practical learning was definitely impacted.
Clinical-Oriented Student:
Love the fact that we get to visit the hospital right from early semesters. The rounds and case discussions are great for real-world prep.
. International Student Review:
As a student from Nepal, I felt welcome here. The admission process was smooth, but language barriers in local areas were sometimes a struggle.
Student from Tech Background:
I switched from engineering to pursue BPT at MGUMST. The hands-on learning here feels much more rewarding than coding ever did.
Passionate Medical Aspirant:
I had one dream—to become a doctor. MGUMST is helping me live that dream every day with its rigorous academics and supportive mentors.
Review Focused on Internships:
MGUMST provides good internship opportunities within its own hospital. I got to assist in real cases, not just observe.
Focus on Peer Group/Crowd:
The crowd is diverse but mostly focused. Not much partying—most students are serious about studies.
Review on Fees & Affordability:
The fees are on the higher side, especially for private courses. Scholarships are available but limited.
Infrastructure-Oriented Review:
Buildings are modern, especially the OPD and library. The anatomy lab needs better preservation systems.
Postgraduate Student Review:
I’m doing MD here, and I feel the faculty is even more involved now. The workload is intense, but you feel like you’re really training to save lives.
Placement-Focused Review:
Placements are stronger in allied fields like BPT and B.Sc. Nursing than MBBS. Still, good hospital tie-ins help.
Review from Final Year Student:
Final year is intense—practicals, viva, clinical hours. But it’s also when you see everything come together.
Student Reviewing Tech Facilities:
Wi-Fi is okay. Smart boards are available in most classes. Need better projectors and AV equipment in some lecture halls.
Student Focused on Management Issues:
Academics are solid, but the administration can be slow and bureaucratic. Getting approvals or issue resolution takes time.
Senior Student Review on Growth:
I’ve grown a lot here—not just academically, but in confidence and communication. Presentations and case discussions helped a lot.
One-line Review:
Great for serious learners, not so much for chillers.
One-line Review:
Quality education, average hostel food.
One-line Review:
Solid academics, outdated admin processes.
One-line Review:
Impressive clinical exposure, needs more cultural activities.
One-line Review:
Strong faculty, but fees could be more justified.

Sarcastic-Light Review:
You’ll learn everything you need to be a doctor—just maybe not how to fix the Wi-Fi or get decent hostel paneer.
