Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) is one of the oldest and most respected engineering colleges in India. It is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. MIT was started in the year 1949 by Shri C. Rajam. He wanted to give technical education to Indian students and help the country grow. MIT was the first college in India to offer courses in special fields like Aeronautical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, and Instrumentation.
MIT became a part of Anna University in the year 1978. Since then, it has continued to grow and become even better. Today, it offers many engineering and science courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels.
