Hindu College is one of India’s oldest and most prestigious colleges, established in 1899. Founded by Krishan Dassji Gurwale and Pandit Deen Dayal Sharma amid India’s struggle for independence, it was started to provide nationalist, non-elitist, and non-sectarian education to youth in Delhi. Originally located in Kinari Bazar, Chandni Chowk, the college affiliated initially with Punjab University before becoming one of the first colleges affiliated with the University of Delhi upon its inception in 1922.
