Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM, GLIM Gurgaon), Gurgaon Reviews

S Sanjay
Detailed Current Student Review As a current PGDM student at Great Lakes, I can say the academics are rigorous and industry-aligned. Professors are highly experienced and many have industry backgrounds. Placements are strong, especially for Analytics and Consulting roles. The hostel is decent but could use some infrastructure upgrades. Extracurriculars are vibrant, with clubs like the Toastmasters chapter, marketing club, and sports events. The challenge is the fast-paced trimester system—there’s hardly time to breathe.

First-Year Student’s Impressions Just started my PGDM this year. Faculty is really helpful, and the seniors are welcoming. The campus is clean and green. Food is average but okay. There’s a professional vibe all around. Looking forward to the upcoming industry immersion.

Critical Yet Respectful Review Academically, the college is very strong. I appreciate the faculty and guest lectures from industry leaders. However, the hostel maintenance is not up to the mark, and the admin team can be slow to respond to student issues. It would be great if these aspects improved.

Student Review in Casual Tone Great Lakes has a very corporate culture. The case study method keeps us on our toes. Placement prep starts early, which is great. Hostel life could be better, and the Wi-Fi sometimes fails during submissions.

Highly Positive Review My journey at Great Lakes has been incredible. I was offered a role at Deloitte thanks to the rigorous placement training. Faculty like Dr. Suresh Ramanathan make learning truly meaningful. The capstone project helped me gain real-world experience.

Detailed Alumni Review (2 years out) Graduated two years ago and currently working at KPMG. Academics laid a solid foundation in business fundamentals. Career support was immense, with resume polishing and mock interviews. The alumni network also played a key role in my lateral career shift.

Real-Life Outcome Focused I did PGPM at Great Lakes and joined a mid-tier consulting firm. Within 2 years, I moved to a Big 4 thanks to the learning I gained here.

Compared with TAPMI Initially inclined toward TAPMI, but Great Lakes' 1-year PGPM and industry connects convinced me. I don’t regret it!

Compared with NMIMS While NMIMS had a bigger brand name, I opted for Great Lakes for the analytics specialization and it was a smart choice.

Compared with Welingkar Great Lakes has a better industry-oriented curriculum and stronger analytics faculty than Welingkar.

Compared with BIM Trichy Both are great B-schools, but the Chennai campus and 1-year PGPM structure at Great Lakes suited my needs more.

Neutral Review It’s a serious B-school with a focus on discipline and results. Less fun, more grind—but it pays off.

Pros: Placement-Driven | Cons: Campus Life If you want solid placements, Great Lakes delivers. But don’t expect a laid-back, fun-filled campus.

Balanced Review Great campus and faculty, average hostel facilities. The academic load is heavy but ultimately beneficial.

Practical Viewpoint I’d recommend it for PGPM aspirants with 2–3 years’ work ex. If you're looking for a chill MBA life, look elsewhere.
