About DTU Delhi

Delhi Technological University (DTU) follows a structured and transparent admission process that is largely entrance-based, with a few programs assessed through merit. The process includes online applications, national-level entrance exam submissions, and centralized counseling rounds. 

How to Apply (Online/Offline)

Applicants must apply online through the respective portals depending on their chosen course:

• For B.Tech: Register and apply through the JAC Delhi (Joint Admission Counselling) portal.

• For B.Des, M.Des: Register online and submit UCEED/CEED scores.

• For MBA/PGDM: Apply via the CMAC (Common Management Admission Committee) portal, submitting CAT/MAT scores.

• For BBA, BA (Hons), MSc, MA: Application through DTU’s official admissions portal. CUET scores (UG/PG) are required.

• For M.Tech: Register on the DTU portal and submit a valid GATE score.

• PhD: Direct application on DTU’s portal, including research proposal and qualifying exam scores.

Offline applications are not accepted; the entire process is digital for 2025 admissions.

Entrance Exams

• B.Tech: JEE Main; counseling through JAC Delhi.

• B.Des: UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design).

• BBA & BA (Hons Economics): CUET UG (Common University Entrance Test).

• M.Tech: GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering).

• MBA/PGDM: CAT or MAT.

• MSc & MA: CUET PG.

• M.Des: CEED (Common Entrance Exam for Design).

• PhD: Written test/interview by DTU plus relevant qualifying degree.

Selection Criteria

• Admission is based on national entrance exam performance and fulfillment of minimum eligibility (class 12 or graduation marks).

• B.Tech seat allocation is via all-India counseling rounds (JAC Delhi) using JEE Main rank.

• BBA and BA (Hons) are merit-based but require CUET UG qualification.

• Most PG programs require a valid national-level entrance test and may include an interview round.

• For PhD, candidates must qualify an entrance test and interview at DTU. Some candidates (NET/GATE/CSIR qualified) may be exempt from the written exam.

Admission Timeline

• Applications for most programs commence in March–April.

• JEE Main and CUET exams take place April–June.

• Counseling and admissions for UG courses (B.Tech, B.Des, BBA, BA) typically run from July–August.

• PG admissions (M.Tech, MBA, MSc, M.Des, MA) usually close by August–September.

• PhD applications are accepted in specific cycles, often open twice a year.

• Exact dates are published annually on DTU, JAC Delhi, and CUET portals.

Documents Required

• Mark sheets/certificates for class 10, 12, and graduation/postgraduation, as applicable.

• Recent passport-size photographs.

• Valid entrance exam scorecard/admit card (JEE Main, GATE, CUET, UCEED, etc.).

• Proof of identity (Aadhar, passport, or other government ID).

• Caste certificate, if applying under reservation.

• Domicile/state certificate for Delhi region candidates.

• Category/disability certificate (if applicable).

• Research proposal (for PhD applicants).

• Migration/transfer certificate (for new entrants).

• Payment receipt for application fee.
